The Coach on the Boat!
Lara Heacock helps leaders lean into kindness to unlock blind spots, increase self-awareness, and accomplish their goals – even when it’s difficult. Lara works with leaders at the human level, so that they can thrive in business and in life.
Lara has worked in companies ranging from small privately held firms to multi-national organizations. In over a decade of leadership in the talent acquisition industry, she managed geographically dispersed teams, and mentored and coached associates in the US and abroad.
Lara is an ICF Certified Executive Coach, an award-winning writer, and a speaker who leads workshops and classes around the country.
Meet Jeff
The CEO on the Boat!
Jeff Platt is the CEO of Kokua Technologies, an IT Company in business for over 30 years. In that time, Jeff has seen it all - business ebbs and flows, employee challenges, economic shifts, and all kinds of clients. Whatever the circumstance, Kokua has navigated it with him at the helm.
Jeff is a natural mentor. Kokua is the Hawaiian word for Help, and Jeff prides himself on being a helper. He’s also a storyteller, so expect some stories!
Jeff brings a straight forward style backed by over 3 decades of business success and community involvement.
What your day entails
Your TOV experience starts before your voyage. After you apply and are selected, you’ll receive a pre-voyage call to confirm everything from your goals to your lunch order! All you have to do the day of, is show up.
We’re located in Forked River, NJ - on the beautiful Barnegat Bay. The water is calm and we’ll dock in a place where it’ll be waist deep, so bring a bathing suit! We’ve got sunscreen, towels, and even some fun water floats so you can really relax and let the ideas flow. And yes, the boat has a head!
When you arrive, we’ll give you the full lay of the land and acclimate you to the boat. We’ll sit together and discuss what you hope to get out of your voyage, and then we’ll head out! Your voyage will be about 4 hours, beginning late morning and ending before the close of business, ensuring that you have time to do any early or late check-ins needed. We do ask that you be fully present and limit technology while on the boat.
The rest will unfold in the moment, as the ideas flow on the open water.
